At an early age, I was determined to become an artist. My first canvas was smooth rocks plucked from the bottom of the creek behind my parents house in Ohio. My 9th grade teacher offered me $50 for my first oil painting, which I still have. I was convinced that being an artist would be a fun way to make a living. I moved from Ohio to Isle of Palms, SC in 1975, where I worked 24 hours on and 48 hours off for 17 years on the fire department. This gave me many hours to learn how to take my acrylic paints and create an illusion of the beautiful environment I was living in. I enjoy painting everyday with my bride of 41 years. Together we create single works of art by combining and blending our artist abilities. Still proclaimed Master of Illusion, we help people see and experience what is not really there. Sometimes on the side of a large building, on a vehicle, or a piece of driftwood found on the beach. Our work can be viewed at the State Artisan Center in Walterboro SC, The Municipal Building in Mt. Pleasant SC, Dorchester Co. Library in St. George SC, on a 26′ wall in the culinary class at Dorchester Career and Technical School that inspires the newly trained chefs to work in the Charleston restaurant’s, and a 124′ wall in Williams Memorial Elementary School that lets the children experience South Carolina from the oceans to the mountains.

When I was a young girl my father gave me a paint set which sparked my love and passion for art. That paint set brought me pleasure in painting on my jeans and anything I could get my hands on, now I create fantasies. I really enjoy the life of an artist here in the low country. Using the availability of the sereness of the beaches to the adventure and excitement of the swamps and the vastness of the Edisto River. The beauty that I capture with my lense sparks the imagination for my next place. I’ve had the privilege of sharing my talent in schools creating the illusion that the children are out in nature. To me walls are like giant canvas waiting to come to life. My husband, Steve, and I have had the honor of painting many murals in Saint George and in private homes.
My joy comes in sharing my talents of the love of arts with YOU!
